Equipment Manager

Job Description
We have equipment and lots of it. We depend on this equipment to enable us to serve our clients. Our clients expect us to be on our game. This means the equipment we need to serve our clients needs to be organized and in the right place at the right time. It’s hard to fry an egg without a fry pan. Things break and they need fixin’ or replacin’. Whatever it takes to keep the engine running. Speaking of engines, there is opportunity for limited travel if interested.

YOU
Are you ambitious and a hard worker? Good, because there's a lot to accomplish. There's a whole bunch of opportunity out there and we need someone who can tackle tasks like a 200 pound linebacker. As a member of a small team YOU are it. We're counting on YOU! Are you highly organized and very detailed oriented? Good, because it's the little things that will propel you to success or make you crash and burn. Do you like to tinker? Awesome because we have stuff that needs tinkering with. Have I asked if you're creative? We like to think we're changing the face of our industry and to achieve that goal you need to think outside the box. We tend to get stuck in that mindset of doing what we've always done the way we've always done it. At SMA we say "there's always a better way, let's go find it."

US
Sports Management Associates, Inc. is a technology service company. We offer sports timing and data services to participatory athletic events. We do what? We provide race results for triathlons, marathons, your local 5K community run/walk. Fun and healthy activities. We are passionate about providing opportunities for people to go have fun and lead healthy lifestyles. Many times the events we serve help generate funds for non-profit organizations that help people. So in a way you can say we're in the business of helping people. We just use fancy electronics that calculate how long it takes for people to get from one point to another while running, jogging, swimming and cycling to do it.

THE CULTURE
We're a small team so we have to enjoy each other's company. We don't hire just anyone because there's a seat to fill. Every member of the team needs to work well together and have the right attitude. And because we're a small team everyone's input is valued. We can all learn from and mentor each other.

It's a casual work environment. Casual meaning shorts, a race t-shirt and running shoes. It's the industry we work in so it's okay to dress like a runner. We enjoy flexible work schedules. We understand that life happens. We also understand you have a life outside of work. Work hard while you're at work, get your time in, get your work done then go live your life. We LOVE what we do but we also enjoy all those wonderful things outside of work.

WHAT WE NEED
To fulfill this role on the SMA team you must be able to:
  • Design, implement and maintain processes and procedures for maintaining and organizing equipment housed in our warehouse
  • Learn about the different types of equipment and how they’re used
  • Load and unload equipment going to and returning from events
  • Disassemble, diagnose and make general repairs to damaged equipment
  • Invent, design and build gadgets to enhance our operations
  • Be a jack of all trades
