How does Live Race Alerts via Twitter work?
Live Race Alerts via Twitter is intended to be used by the participant and not friends, family or other spectators. The participant will sign up for Live Race Alerts via Twitter to have their race progress and finish time available to all their Twitter followers. NOTE: You can only sign-up to receive alerts for one participant!

You sign up to have your race progress posted as tweets to your timeline. When you cross a timing location along the race course a new tweet will be posted to your Twitter timeline so all your Twitter followers can monitor your race progress.

How do I sign up for Live Race Alerts via Twitter?
Signing up for Live Race Alerts via Twitter is very easy. First thing you need to do is allow the SMA Live Race Alerts Application to post tweets. Enter the following URL in your web browser's address bar: http://sms.sportstats.ca/sma/signupTwitter.php.

Enter your Twitter username and password then click the button that says "Authorize app."



Next, select the event from the list of events in the dropdown list box.

In the Contestant box, enter your last name or race bib # and click the "Search" button.

Finally, select your name from the list of participants and click the "Sign-up" button. Congratulations, your race progress and finish time will be tweeted. NOTE: You can only sign-up to receive alerts for one participant!
